Deck and Above-Ground Pool Removal in Wilmington, NC — Filled and Graded Level
This above-ground pool removal in Wilmington, NC had it all: an old deck, an above-ground pool, and — once everything came out — a hole nearly four feet deep. The homeowner wanted the lot back: clean, level and ready for whatever came next.
The hard part wasn’t the demolition
Taking out a deck and a pool is straightforward work. What made this job harder was the space.
Everything sat right up against the house. That meant every pass with the machine had to be slow and deliberate — keeping it clear of the house on one side, and well back from the edge of an open hole on the other, the whole time. In a tight backyard there’s no room to swing wide and no room for a mistake.
How we did it
- Tore out the deck and the pool, and hauled all of it away.
- Brought in our Kubota track loader for the heavy lifting. A track loader spreads its weight and turns in its own footprint, which is what you want when there’s a house on one side and an open hole on the other.
- Filled the hole — nearly four feet deep once the pool was out.
- Graded the whole area back to level, so the yard drains and sits flat instead of settling into a dip.
The result
A clean, level yard — ready for grass, a patio, or whatever comes next. Nothing left behind: no old boards, no pool liner, no pile of fill waiting to be spread.
